Sunny Seattle

I started a blog two years ago and nothing became of it.

Second chance?  The power of redemption?

I should have these working in my favor as I start my blogging do-over.

A lot has happened since my first little post. I don't think I have time or space to catch up. But I would like to start fresh.

Here we go....

Blaine and I moved to Sunny Seattle. Yes, you read that right, Sunny. "Sunny Seattle" is a term Blaine and I coined. In the past year we've visited this city three times (one of those visits was obviously permanent). We've always been greeted with sunshine, warm and welcoming. Thus our nickname. During our first week, after our permanent move, we went to the BEACH, which resulted in sunburn! We also learned that living on the fourth floor of an apartment complex, with no air conditioning (they don't believe in that here) means vacating the premise between noon and five otherwise you could end up suffocating. I'm not joking.

Now, I am not complaining. I am merely stating that outsiders believe this city never receives sun or warms up. Before we moved we were issued terrible warnings about the weather from just about everyone. Frightening warnings, the kind that made you think you'd never-be-happy-again-warnings. Now I do have my qualms about our nickname. I am being realistic and setting my expectations that soon we will be proved wrong...very wrong. But I have to say that I am grateful to have experienced a Seattle with sunshine. It gives me hope that the entire year won't be spent under a dark cloud of doom. Even if our future days are filled with overcast and rain, I believe we'll carry on just fine. At least I hope we will. Blaine and I are excited about this adventure. I believe we both won't leave our fate to the local weather. We are very much looking forward to exploring this city, our city, rain and all.

P.S Sorry about the low quality photos. These were taken with Blaine's phone. We'll try to improve our camera options and photo quality in future postings.
